Playa del Carmen, Mexico / Germany, April 15, 2025 – Following an extensive period of masterplanning, visioneering, and refinement, PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP officially announces the start of construction for its flagship destination: the Puerto Fantasía Theme Park Resort, located just 8 km from Cancún International Airport in the heart of Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

Originally envisioned for earlier delivery, the project will now begin construction in 2025, following final approvals and alignment with local authorities. The result is a significantly enhanced and even more sustainable resort concept that sets new benchmarks for leisure development in Latin America.

Puerto Fantasía will be the region’s most ambitious tourism and entertainment development, spanning over 2.3 million square meters of construction across an 80-hectare site. The resort will integrate:

• A world-class theme park with six immersive themed lands
• An exclusive water park featuring 16 pools, 32 slides, VIP cabanas and treehouse lounges
• A cutting-edge film and television production complex including 8 sound stages and 9 backlots
• Five themed hotels with a total of 6,400 keys
• Over 4,000 residential units in distinct living clusters
• A full confertainment district with 67 venues, offering capacities of up to 5,000 guests
• Dedicated social infrastructure, including hospital, schools, university, and a sustainable utility grid

With a total investment volume exceeding 1.05 billion USD, the project aims to combine bold storytelling with long-term community value.

Anticipated Attendance & Reach

Upon full opening, Puerto Fantasía is projected to welcome up to 2.6 million annual visitors, including guests of the Puerto Fantasía Theme Park, Water Park, Film Studio Tour, and live entertainment offerings.
