LOOKING BACK AT 2024

A Message from the CEO of the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP

In 2024, we had the privilege of welcoming people from all over the world to the diverse destinations and initiatives of the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP. It was a year full of momentum, meaningful encounters, and important milestones—once again highlighting the value of shared experiences, collective progress, and responsible action in an ever-changing world.

Across our group, we continued to pursue one central goal: creating places where people can experience special moments, grow personally, and feel a genuine sense of connection. Whether in leisure and entertainment, education, healthcare, hospitality, or residential development—our projects are designed to bring people together and enrich lives.

Bringing these visions to life comes with great responsibility. In 2024, we deepened our commitment to sustainability, social inclusion, and local engagement. Every initiative was developed in harmony with its surrounding region—with deep respect for the environment, culture, and local communities.

Inclusion remained a guiding principle throughout the year. Together with our employees, partners, and guests with disabilities, we worked to ensure our offerings are barrier-free and accessible to all—implementing this commitment across all areas of our organization.

Environmental and climate protection also continued to be a core pillar of our strategy. Alongside many initiatives to reduce our ecological footprint, Earth Month 2024 provided an opportunity to foster awareness of environmentally responsible behavior—together with our teams, visitors, and neighbors. Our efforts in this field will be further expanded in 2025.

Our philanthropic work was another central focus in 2024. In close collaboration with local initiatives and institutions, we supported a wide range of projects—from donations to hospitals and nonprofit organizations to the distribution of food, medical supplies, toys, and holiday gifts to children in need. Spreading joy and hope remains at the heart of our mission.

2024 was also a year of transformation. The continued development of our resorts, film studios, water parks, educational and healthcare facilities, as well as new living and community spaces, took shape—strengthening not only our group but also the economic and social future of the wider region.

The PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP and its affiliated companies look back with pride on a dynamic and meaningful year. We thank all partners, employees, guests, and supporters who accompanied us on this journey—and we look ahead with anticipation to all that lies before us.

SOCIAL COMMITMENTS

SHARING OUR VALUES WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES

In 2024, PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP continued its strong commitment to social responsibility and social inclusion. Across the entire Group, a variety of initiatives were implemented to strengthen communities, support social causes, and create new career opportunities for young people. Notable efforts included a group-wide Teaming employee-giving initiative and a dedicated program to train and employ local youth.

Teaming Initiative – Fostering a Culture of Solidarity
Employees of PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP and community members take part in a charity run at a company theme park, exemplifying the Group’s culture of solidarity and giving. As part of the Group-wide Teaming initiative, employees were given the opportunity to voluntarily donate a small fixed amount (e.g. 20 pesos per month) directly from their paycheck to charitable causes. This payroll-giving program was carried out in close partnership with local aid organizations. It helped cultivate a workplace culture of solidarity, personal responsibility, and social engagement across PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP.

Occupations for Young People Program – Empowering Young Talent

A key project in 2024 was the Occupations for Young People program, aimed at unemployed yet educated or qualified young adults between 18 and 30 years old. In collaboration with the Quintana Roo public employment office, the program selected 20 participants to undergo over 100 hours of practical training in the fields of hospitality and business. The goal was to open new career paths for these young individuals and facilitate their integration into the job market. This effort focused especially on the leisure, hospitality, and sustainable tourism sectors, where PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP has a strong presence.

Commitment to Inclusive Employment and Social Integration

Promoting access to dignified employment for people with disabilities and those at risk of social exclusion remains a strategic priority for PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP. In preparation for the creation of the Puerto Fantasia Foundation, the Group deepened its commitment to inclusive hiring across all business units.

In 2024, PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP began the structured integration of individuals with Down syndrome and other forms of disability from the Quintana Roo region into operational teams. These roles are tailored to the individual’s abilities and interests, ensuring that each person contributes meaningfully within their area of strength.

The Group also initiated recruitment pathways for survivors of gender-based violence, specifically young women aged 18 to 30 from the municipalities of Cancún, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum. This effort was designed in cooperation with local support organizations and municipal outreach programs.

A comprehensive onboarding and support system was introduced, including individualized welcome plans, initial job training, and close mentorship. Where appropriate, a shared communication channel was established between the workplace, the collaborating care organization, and the individual’s family to ensure a stable and respectful integration process.

By the end of 2024, PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP aimed to have employed an average of 30 individuals with special needs, marking a clear step toward long-term structural inclusion and equal opportunity across the Group.

A Model for Learning, Growth and Future-Ready Talent

At PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP, continuous learning is not only a tool for professional development — it is a cornerstone of our corporate culture. We believe that empowering employees through knowledge, skills, and adaptability is essential to meeting both day-to-day responsibilities and the evolving demands of our diverse business landscape.

To this end, the Group promotes continuous professional advancement, with training programs that reflect our business model, core values, and commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Training Tailored to Individual Potential

Learning and development at PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP is designed to be both strategic and personal. Our training plans ensure that employees are well prepared to carry out their current roles while also expanding their competencies to grow into new opportunities within the organization.

Training content is dynamic and adaptive, built around key policy areas including competence management, workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and inclusive leadership. Depending on the topic and team, programs are delivered in a blended format: face-to-face, e-learning, or hybrid.

A major focus in 2024 was the expansion of our dedicated e-learning platform, which enables flexible and individualized learning journeys. Through this system, employees can engage with content at their own pace while supervisors track progress and provide tailored support.

Our approach to training reflects the same principles that define our guest experience: personalization, excellence, and long-term value.

Structured Training Programs – Valuing Talent at Every Level

At PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP, employee development is guided by a structured training framework that ensures all team members are equipped to meet current responsibilities and future challenges. Training initiatives are delivered through both internal and external programs and are organized into the following key categories:

  • Corporate Training
Mandatory for all employees, this training reinforces the Group’s core values, organizational standards, and role-specific responsibilities.
  • Technical Training
Targeted training for staff in operational areas such as food & beverage, retail, games, and attraction operations — ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Workplace Safety
Compulsory for all employees, this training ensures compliance with safety regulations and promotes a culture of proactive risk management.
  • Food Safety
Essential for employees involved directly or indirectly in the food chain. Training focuses on quality standards, hygiene, and hazard control in accordance with international best practices.
  • Environmental Awareness
Delivered in alignment with the Group’s Environmental Policy, this training raises awareness, strengthens responsibility, and fosters sustainable behavior at all organizational levels.
  • Professional Development
Customized programs designed to enhance both personal and technical competencies. Delivered via in-house resources or external providers, these courses support long-term career growth within the Group.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS

SHARING OUR VALUES WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP ACROSS THE PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP

At PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP — including Prometheus Deutschland GmbH, PUERTO FANTASÍA S. DE R.L. DE C.V., and all affiliated operations — environmental responsibility is embedded in every level of planning, operations, and governance. The Group’s Environmental Policy and general sustainability framework guide decisions across all business units and locations.

In 2024, the Group advanced its commitment to the circular economy by expanding internal systems for material reuse. Across the company’s resorts, entertainment venues, and operational centers, recyclable materials such as plastic, cardboard, and paper are collected, repurposed, and reintegrated into on-site production streams — including packaging, containers, and printed products. These systems reduce dependency on external resources while adding long-term economic and ecological value.

Water and waste management are also key areas of innovation. Organic waste is converted into nutrient-rich soil for use in gardens and landscaping across all Group destinations. Blackwater and greywater are treated through plant-based aquifer systems that filter and purify runoff without chemical pollutants. Ionization technology improves water quality and reduces reliance on external treatment infrastructure.

Energy transition is another major pillar of the Group’s sustainability strategy. PUERTO FANTASIA GROUP continues to invest in solar power and hydraulic energy, including systems equipped with photovoltaic cells and energy storage facilities. These systems help reduce emissions, stabilize operations, and make individual sites increasingly energy-independent.

To ensure accountability and measurable progress, the Group conducts regular environmental audits. These assessments evaluate compliance, highlight best practices, and ensure that each subsidiary — from large-scale operations like PUERTO FANTASÍA S. DE R.L. DE C.V. to infrastructure-led entities like Prometheus Deutschland GmbH — contributes meaningfully to collective impact.

ENERGY

We are fully committed to the energy transition by prioritising clean, renewable energy sources and promoting energy efficiency across all operations of the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP. As part of this commitment, we continuously implement measures to reduce energy consumption. These include the installation of low-energy LED lighting, the use of keycard-activated power systems in hotel rooms, and automatic air conditioning shut-off when windows are opened. In addition, our main energy systems are monitored and managed via a centralised control platform that integrates multiple programmable controllers to maximise efficiency across our facilities.

SOLAR ENERGY

Aligned with our group-wide objectives of combating climate change and driving the decarbonisation of the energy model, the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP continues to advance the development of a large-scale photovoltaic power plant. With a planned surface area of 32,000 m² and an expected annual output of 3.4 MWp, this project marks a significant milestone on our path toward a clean, decentralised energy model and reinforces our leadership in sustainability within the global tourism and leisure industry.

Photovoltaic solar energy is generated by converting sunlight into electricity through the photoelectric effect. This form of energy is renewable, inexhaustible, and non-polluting—it does not consume fuel or generate waste. Furthermore, photovoltaic panels operate silently and without emissions, making them a key element in our long-term strategy for responsible and sustainable development.

WATER

Water is essential to both the operations and the overall experience offered across the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP. Effective water management is therefore one of our core environmental priorities. We monitor consumption daily and continuously strive to reduce usage through measures such as regular leak detection tests, automated irrigation systems in landscaped areas, and water-saving plumbing fixtures. Our environmental policy defines clear objectives for water stewardship and ensures that our practices align with both local regulations and broader public sustainability goals.

WASTEWATER

Nearly 100% of the water used for human consumption across PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP properties ultimately becomes wastewater. In the case of recreational and pool water, only a fraction—mainly from filter cleaning—enters the wastewater system. All wastewater is channelled through a dedicated drainage network to the group’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), where it undergoes advanced tertiary treatment. This process allows for the reclaimed water to be safely reused, and it also provides valuable data for ongoing optimisation and operational improvements.

WASTE

Minimising waste generation and maximising recycling and resource recovery are central components of our sustainability strategy. Our waste management teams implement both technical and organisational measures to improve the sorting and handling of recyclable and organic materials. In addition, we actively promote employee engagement and awareness through targeted training and communication efforts, fostering a group-wide culture of environmental responsibility.

BIODIVERSITY PROTECTION

Climate change is one of the leading drivers of biodiversity loss, threatening the survival of species that cannot adapt quickly enough to changing environmental conditions. In response, the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP not only actively combats climate change but also champions the protection and conservation of biodiversity through targeted initiatives across all regions in which we operate.

PROTECTION INITIATIVES

In line with our commitment to preserving local ecosystems and endemic species, we implement a range of biodiversity-focused programmes, including:

  • Rescue and relocation of native wildlife
  • Ecological compensation in support of wetland conservation
  • Reforestation and sustainable landscaping projects
  • Composting of vegetation cleared during land development
  • Environmental education and awareness campaigns for local communities and staff

RESCUE AND RELOCATION OF NATIVE FAUNA

Following initial land clearing activities, all identified native fauna—particularly macrofauna—are carefully rescued and relocated to designated release sites within protected natural areas. One such area is the APFF Manglares de Nichupté, where our relocation efforts have successfully met the objectives of our conservation and rescue programme. These actions ensure that development proceeds in harmony with the preservation of regional biodiversity.

GOVERNANCE COMMITMENTS

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AS A FOUNDATION FOR LONG-TERM VALUE

QUALITY AND SAFETY: GUARANTEED ACROSS WATER, FACILITIES AND FOOD

At the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety across all operations. Our certified management systems support continuous improvement in both our services and internal processes, ensuring excellence in every guest experience.

WATER QUALITY CONTROL

Water quality is monitored through a robust quality management system aligned with ISO 9001 standards. This system allows us to objectively evaluate performance using key indicators and to continuously enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Our in-house laboratory oversees the quality of all water used for drinking, bathing, recreational activities (such as rides, fountains and water features), and reclaimed water for irrigation. The laboratory ensures full compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, with a strong focus on both water quality and the prevention of related risks.

STRENGTHENING CYBERSECURITY MEASURES

We are reinforcing our digital infrastructure as part of our commitment to digital responsibility. A comprehensive set of cybersecurity measures is being implemented to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information systems, data, and digital management tools—ensuring operational resilience and stakeholder trust in an increasingly connected world.

FACILITIES CONTROL

At the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP, we ensure a hygienic and safe environment across all operational areas by applying stringent maintenance and sanitation protocols. To prevent the presence of bacteria and potential pathogen outbreaks, we carry out regular, scheduled disinfections of ventilation systems, including air-conditioning ducts, chimneys, extraction fans, and wastewater discharge lines.

Facility safety is integral to guest well-being and includes the full functionality of all critical infrastructure—such as electrical and lighting systems, HVAC systems, domestic hot water production, and plumbing installations. All systems undergo inspections and certifications that exceed standard regulatory requirements. In addition, our fire detection, suppression, and evacuation systems are regularly tested and certified to ensure full compliance with applicable safety regulations.

RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY

Diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity are foundational to our human capital strategy. The PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP is firmly committed to ensuring a workplace free of discrimination on the basis of race, colour, gender, religion, age, political belief, social status, national origin, or any other personal characteristic.

To uphold this commitment, we implement a set of formal policies and mechanisms, including:

  • A comprehensive Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
  • A Workplace Harassment Prevention Protocol
  • An Equal Opportunities Plan promoting gender equity

A gender perspective is also systematically integrated into our recruitment processes and psychosocial risk assessments, as led by our Human Resources Department. These efforts foster a respectful, fair, and inclusive working environment across all business units.

FOOD SAFETY

In response to the global pandemic and as part of our long-term commitment to health and hygiene, the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP has implemented rigorous food safety protocols across all food and beverage areas. We fully comply with all applicable food safety and quality standards and operate comprehensive management systems to control and monitor every aspect of food preparation and service.

Over the coming years, our objective is to achieve formal certification in food safety standards across all business units, completing the group-wide implementation of internationally recognised systems that guarantee the highest level of protection for guests and staff.

SUPPLY CHAIN QUALITY CONTROL

We maintain strict oversight of our supply chain to ensure that all goods and services meet the quality expectations of the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP. Our evaluation system covers all critical suppliers, with an annual performance review of the 100 most strategic partners. The assessment is tailored to the nature of each supplier’s contribution—whether it involves distributed or non-distributed supplies, on-site services, or external services.

Suppliers are evaluated using the following key criteria:

  • Quality of service or product delivered
  • Accuracy and timeliness of invoicing
  • Coordination and compliance with operational protocols
  • Adherence to environmental and occupational safety standards

Each supplier receives a rating—satisfactory, acceptable, needs improvement, or poor. Any deficiencies are documented through a formal non-conformity process and followed up by the Central Services Department via a dedicated work instruction.

All approved suppliers must formally accept the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Suppliers and Contractors. In addition, they must commit to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact as a prerequisite to participate in regulated tenders for construction, services, or supply contracts.

DEVELOPING SKILLS: BUILDING CAREERS, ENHANCING EMPLOYABILITY

At the PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP, we are committed to nurturing talent and empowering our people to grow within the organisation. Every new employee receives a structured induction programme that covers both technical and regulatory aspects of their role. Leadership development is a cornerstone of our long-term strategy, supported by our internal training platform, Puerto Fantasía University, which offers dedicated leadership programmes and professional development initiatives.

Our Internal Management School provides employees in operational divisions with the opportunity to advance into leadership roles—either within their current department or across different business units. This programme focuses on developing core managerial skills and leadership capabilities through a structured and comprehensive curriculum. Internal mobility is a key priority, and we actively encourage career progression within the group.

To support this, the My Puerto Fantasía Careers platform enables employees to explore and apply for open positions across the organisation before external recruitment processes begin. This ensures internal talent is always given priority in career advancement.

WELL-BEING AND QUALITY OF WORK LIFE

One of our long-term commitments is to foster a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling work environment. We promote work-life balance, support mental and physical well-being, and continuously strive to enhance the overall quality of working life for all employees.

A dedicated Psychosocial Risk Prevention Framework is being developed to strengthen existing mechanisms. It includes regular assessments of physical and mental health, as well as ongoing training and awareness programmes for all employees and managers.

We also promote connectivity and collaboration through our internal social platform, the Workplace Exchange. This network strengthens ties between employees and allows for the quick and easy sharing of ideas, projects, images, and videos across teams and departments—fostering a sense of community and innovation within the company.

COMMUNICATION ON PROGRESS

As a committed participant of the UN Global Compact, PUERTO FANTASÍA GROUP submits its annual Communication on Progress (CoP) to transparently report on actions taken to uphold the Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. This report reflects our continued dedication to responsible business practices and outlines measurable progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
